About me

Quality music for quality occasions.

I learnt to play the Bagpipe at 10 years old, initially at Irvine Pipe Band under tuition of Mr Cameron also the 2nd Irvine Boys Brigade under Jim Currie. Beyond this I was taught at school by Don Stevenson and also by P/M Donnie Mathieson.

I have been piping now for over 40 years, competing at Pipe Band competitions up and down the country including all major championships in between. I have played all over Scotland and also other parts of the UK and other countries too.

The pipes I play are Great Highland Bagpipes; Kintail’s 1983, RG Hardie’s 1952, RG Lawrie’s 1910-1920 and Naill’s 2014. Each have a different feel and look and are maintained regulary.

I also play the Scottish Smallpipes, designed by Fred Morrison and made by McCallum Bagpipes in Kilmarnock for the more mellow parts of your event such as signing the register at your wedding.

Neil is a Scottish bagpiper who plays at Weddings, Private parties, Birthday parties, Hogmanay, Burns night, Ceilidhs, Funerals, Parades, Fetes and any functions you can think of. I wear Full No.1 Regalia (Feather Bonnet & Plaid as above), for Weddings or Kilt & Barathea day wear for a more peaceful event.
